Campaign Templates and Guidance Notes

Genuine templates help ensure campaigns are built correctly

When users create a new campaign by simply copying from another, they have free reign to make as many changes as they want. It is common to have compiled detailed instruction manuals to tell them precisely which campaign rules should not be changed or removed (perhaps for compliance reasons), and which rules absolutely must be changed to make them specific to the campaign. This leaves a lot of important decisions to chance.

Campaign templates are designed to reduce your exposure to potential compliance risk and the time-consuming task of having to deal with incorrect leads due to improper setup.

Our first version of campaign templates lays the foundation for this solution. It enables Admins and Super Users to:

  • Define a campaign as a template
  • Provide in-platform guidance notes on how to create and correctly configure a campaign from this template

The in-platform guidance notes can be instructions that you author in Convertr or simply link to pre-existing instruction documents you’ve already written. Once you’ve defined a campaign as a template and provided these guidance notes, they’ll be easily accessible to other users when they create new campaigns from the template. With the instructions being more readily available from within the platform, the hope is that users will be more inclined to access and follow them. However, we don’t want to leave this to chance, and so we’ll be enhancing template functionality in the near future with the ability to:

  • Lock Jobs
  • Require users to check Jobs

When an Admin or Super User locks a Job on a template, it prevents other users from being able to edit or remove the Job on any campaign created from that template. This can prevent errors and reduce the chances of any related compliance risk.

Some campaign rules need to be changed for each campaign – and this is where marking Jobs as requiring a check can be helpful. When a user creates a campaign from a template, these Jobs will be highlighted as requiring special attention to ensure that they’re not mistakenly overlooked. This helps prevent incomplete setup and the associated wasted time and effort having to deal with incorrect leads.

Keep on eye out for our monthly newsletter and in-platform release announcements to be informed when Lock Jobs and Check Jobs become available. In the meantime…
