Automate Lead Data Retrieval from LinkedIn

By Mark Benjamin - October 15, 2024

Automatically bringing LinkedIn leads into Convertr just got easier with our improved LinkedIn Connected App

If you’re using Convertr, you may already know about our ability to automate lead data retrieval from LinkedIn. But for those who don’t, let’s dive into why this is so crucial. Ensuring your lead data is treated consistently across the board means you’re feeding your tech stack the right information, improving efficiency and overall data quality.

We’ve recently rolled out some updates and quality-of-life changes to our LinkedIn Connected app, making it easier for you to manage your LinkedIn leads. After listening to your feedback, we’ve added new features and enhancements that we believe will streamline your workflow.

Transfer Connection Ownership with Ease

One of the biggest pain points we addressed was the process of transferring connection ownership. Previously, if someone left the business or had their access revoked, you had to delete all their connections and re-add them manually (what a hassle!)

Now, with just a few clicks, you can reassign ownership without disrupting your lead flow by clicking on the Transfer to Another Account. This is especially useful for maintaining continuity when team members change roles or leave the company.

Assign All Forms to a Single Connection

We also heard from many of you that adding a single connection per form can be repetitive and tedious, especially when you’re handling multiple LinkedIn campaigns. That’s why we’ve introduced the “All” option, allowing you to assign all forms to a single connection. This is perfect if you’re juggling 10 or 20 campaigns but want all your leads to funnel into one place.

Capturing Additional Metadata (saving configuration time)

Another exciting quality-of-life improvement is that we’re now pulling in more metadata! Specifically, LinkedIn campaign names are now stored as separate fields (meaning now you do not have to setup a value transform to append this data).

You can reference this new field in integrations using linkedin_campaignName, making it easier to track and manage campaigns at a more granular level.

New Feature: Capturing Lead Data Beyond LinkedIn Ads

Now for the new features…

LinkedIn has opened up the ability for Convertr to capture lead data outside of LinkedIn Ads campaigns. This includes data from Product Pages, Events, and Company Pages.

To support this, we’ve added new account type options within the platform. When setting up a connection, you can now select “Organisation” as the account type, and then choose which type of leads you want to capture. Whether it’s from a product page, an event, or a company page, you can now easily collect and manage this new influx of leads.

Once you have gone through this process it may look similar to the image below. As you can see in the Lead Type column specifies the type of lead.

Where to Find Your Leads (in LinkedIn)

Wondering where these new types of leads live in LinkedIn? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Once logged in as a LinkedIn Admin, head over to the Analytics section where you’ll find all the leads you’ve collected, including those from product pages, events, and company leads.

Product leads will be housed under any product pages you manage.

Event leads will reside in the event you’ve created, where users can register to join the event.

Company leads will appear on your main company page, under “Contact Sales.”
