2023 has seen new state privacy laws come into fruition across the United States.
Similar to the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation, individuals in the US will now effectively own their personal information. This means that they will now have the legal right to control it, as well as the ability to decide who can use their data.
In the absence of any movement at the federal level on the American Data Privacy Protection Act (ADPPA), multiple states have passed data privacy laws in 2023 so far: Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Montana, Oregon, Tennessee, and Texas.
So, what does this mean for Convertr and its customers? In this blog, we’ll share how these laws will impact the platform and how Convertr will be adjusting its practices and platform to adhere to these new compliance requirements.
The next steps
Following the announcement of these new laws, Convertr has begun a thorough review of our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Terms of Service to flag any necessary updates and ensure that we are positioned to service any data requests.
Will I be compliant when using Convertr?
While Convertr cannot guarantee compliance with regulation, when used correctly, the platform will enable users to meet compliance requirements regarding the following:
- Implementing security practices to protect consumer data within the Convertr Platform.
